I’m ecstatic to be sharing this wedding. I can’t tell you how much I loved going through the pictures. This wedding is Bontle through and through. When I started the blog I was all over the place. However, as time went by I learned to feature weddings with a flavour culture or full-on African blend. And this wedding is a PERFECT fit for Bontle. It has left me seriously considering renewing my vows.
Onkabetse and her husband wanted a blend of modern and traditional elements to their wedding. I fell instantly in love with their choice of decor. It shows they gave it a lot of thought.
Again Rich factory is the designer at this wedding. I know I’ve featured two weddings back to back with brides wearing Rich factory and honestly, her work speaks for itself. Enjoy
The Proposal
There was no going down on one knee and ‘’will you marry me ‘’ stuff. He wrote a letter and asked me to deliver it at home.
Bontle: Lol that sounds familiar on the blog.
The Planning Process
It was fun and interesting. We always knew we wanted a street wedding… (taking it back to where it all started) so we had to come up with innovative ways of making our wedding unique and a beautiful experience for everyone attending.
The Creatives
Mrk Management handled all the deco while K & O Foods did our catering. The receptions were both at our homes. We had a small church ceremony for the blessings.
Culture
We love our Tswana culture, so we did everything that needed to be done traditionally. We also added a bit of African spice since we are proud Africans and fused that with modern trends for garnish.
Favourite Moment
The excitement on our loved ones faces! They were genuinely happy for us and seeing them celebrate our love with such joy and pride was absolutely priceless and a moment to cherish forever. Everything turned out way better than we anticipated. Seeing our visions come to life was amazing.
The Wedding Style
I won’t say there was a style per say but we got inspiration from African attires as well as current modern trends. All we knew was that our guest must come dressed in their traditional outfits.
The Dress
I have always known where to go for my wedding dresses, so I simply made an appointment with Richfactory and gave her my vision of an African Queen while she sketched the dresses.
Hahahaa! No, I didn’t cry or anything like that when I saw them.
Biggest Investment
Our biggest investment went to our deco but we saved a lot on flowers and beverages😊
