I’ve a sophisticated navy blue and coral wedding with touches of gold to share with you today. To say that this wedding is right up my alley is a an under statement. When I went through the images of Anele and Lungile’s wedding, I struggled to hold back my tears. I was especially moved by the image where Anele gives her speech and it looks as though Lungile is emotionally touched by what she said. You can tell the love these two share is extraordinary.
I’m madly in love with their choice of venue styling. And what can I say about the bridesmaid’s outfits. These ladies are trend setters. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of this look this year.
Their photographer Derryn Semple beautifully captured each and every emotion. She not only created beautiful memories for Anele and Lungile but took everyone who will ever see their wedding on a wonderful journey of two lives becoming one. Thank you Derryn for letting us experience your creative work. You are amazing.
Wedding Advice from Anele:
Visit as many Bridal Fairs/ Expos as you can to get ideas and inspiration.
I also visited a lot of blogs, wedding websites, Pinterest and Instagram to collect ideas and create mood boards of my favorite ideas.I stated attending Fairs/Expos and doing my research in 2012 even though I was only going to tie the knot in 2014. YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO MUCH INFORMATION!!!
Don’t be afraid to experiment with color.
Once we found our ideal Decor Supplier, we set up a meeting to share ideas. When we returned for the mock up meeting (where Chantelle prepared a table setting that incorporated our ideas- colours/ flowers/ centrepieces etc). All I can say is we were thrilled with the end result of the combination of our 2 favorite colours, Coral and Navy with hints of Gold.
Rope in the help of your Fiance/ Husband:
I was fortunate enough to have a husband who was keen to get involved with the major items (Decor/ Attire/ Venue), so our wedding was a true reflection of who we are as individual and as a couple. Colourful, Sophisticated, Detail- orientated and Classy hahahaha.
Have a Co-Coordinator on the day of your Wedding
This will assist you to focus on the festivities of your big day and not worry about some of the small insignificant things.
Trust me, this is crucial!!!!! This should actually be point #1. This is of great benefit as you have the opportunity to get a feel of the person you are entrusting to execute your vision on your big day. Different people have different ways of doing things so you want to understand if you and your supplier are on the same page and have rapport. If not, you have the opportunity to continue your search without having paid deposits or signed contracts with someone you are unhappy with. On our first meeting with our photographer, Derryn Semple, she brought us macaroons. While this was not in anyway a reflection of the quality of the work she would do, it certainly was a small but insightful gesture into the person she is; kind, considerate and thoughtful.
In summary, a good relationship with a supplier increases your chances of getting services of a higher quality and standard.
