It’s been a whirlwind kind of weekend. I had so much to do with the kids. We decided to do away with presents this year and give of our time volunteering and doing things we don’t normally do. Plus the pressure of publishing issue3 has quadrupled. I’m nervously excited and hope that you’ll get your virtual copy on Tuesday via the shop. I have to say it is the best issue so far. For today though I have this Stunning Pedi Bride In Africa Fashion House Dress to share with you.
He did pay lobola. The process was quick for us, his family came over to my house, for negotiations, the price was higher than expected but payment was made and a handwritten contract was drawn, for proof of payment and the meeting was outstanding, no drama.
The planning process was a little tricky but nothing we couldn’t handle, everything went super fast and somewhat smooth. Our families chipped in a lot, on the 1st day, my sister and her husband paid for decor and a photographer, my parents got rental toilets, (well, were given rental toilets for free) a family friend was more than happy to assist because he was so happy to hear we were getting married. My parent’s friends and family did the cooking and serving. It was amazing how everyone came through without us asking.
We had a lot of contributions from family and friends, as I mentioned above. We had a lot of support, I will forever be grateful. What a blessing.
When did you know, you were ready for marriage?
Wow, I don’t think there was a specific moment that led me to know. It was many moments that gradually had me wanting marriage, the more we were together, the more I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
A Stunning Pedi Bride In Africa Fashion House
For the wedding on the 7th, we had someone for decor who my sister and her husband organized. The lady came to the house looked at the space after we briefed her on what we wanted, and Bob was your uncle! She did a great job, we also gave her the freedom to do as she saw fit.
The biggest lesson I learned is that people will always come together for the people they love. I learned that you don’t need millions to have a beautiful wedding, lastly, relax things will work out exactly the way they need to, if God is with us, then who can be against us.
The weather! It was amazing, we were extremely worried it would rain, and cause chaos, but it showed up. My other favorite is my Father giving a speech, and informing us to shower together…
Tips For Newly Engaged Couples
I would say proper communication is key between you and your partner. You need to listen and understand. Relax and enjoy the process.
How Has Life Changed
Life has changed in the sense that, we’re trying to balance spending enough time with each other and with our friends and family. It used to be easier because we were all one big crew so coming together meant seeing and spending time with everybody. Also adjusting to each other’s habits has been a challenge, but much needed. Still, have the same friends but also making new ones. Overall it’s been amazing, my husband and I have fallen more in love with each other.
