How was your weekend precious? I trust you’ve enjoyed it; whatever it is you were doing. I’ve been trying to sort the backend of the blog with little success. I guess I should hire a developer really. But I’m not 100% sure, though. I’m going to attempt to fix everything myself and hopefully, by this time next week, it will be working as it should.
SO….. about today’s wedding. Let’s take a little trip to Harare, shall we? I promised myself to explore as much of Africa as possible the next time I land on African soil. However since I’m here the next best thing is to lust after weddings in all African countries.
I’m super excited to be featuring the work of Jules Morgan this morning. I’ve had this wedding for quite some time now and, I was just waiting for the perfect time to strike you with this much prettiness. Vimbayi and Tawanda married at the Pabani lodge in Harare, Zimbabwe. They are a super stylish couple with impeccable taste. From the wedding dress to the natural hair style; Vimbayi nailed her look.
You know it fills my heart with so much joy to see black brides embrace and celebrate their natural (hair) beauty. It is brides like Vimbayi, who inspire me. They are changing the status quo. You don’t have to hide your hair with hideous wigs or over priced hair extensions.
The media has lied to us for way too long. They’ve shown us the one type of beauty but there’s a new generation of black, coco, brown( whatever you want to call us) women who refuse to believe them. No longer will we believe their lies. We are beautiful and we know it.
Thank you Vimbayi for inspiring our generation with your gorgeous wedding.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this Harare wedding and hopefully, this will be the first of many weddings from neighboring countries to grace the blog.
