Morning Precious One! I hope your weekend was a blast. I know Mondays are considered to be the worst days of the week but not here precious. Monday’s are good days here, because not only do I give you inspiration but you can contact me anytime between midday and midnight with your questions/queries and depending on the number of questions I receive, I’ll be sure to answer your queries before midnight.
One of the most challenging things about wedding planning is choosing the type of hairstyle you want for your wedding, especially if you have natural hair. To those of you who do not wear your hair natural, this post is probably not for you.
Throughout the years I remember feeling uncomfortable wearing my hair natural. I know I am not the only one who felt this way because many of my friends have expressed that they felt the same. We grew up believing that natural hair was the wrong type of hair. So we put chemicals on our hair regardless of the damage these chemicals caused. We’ve come a long, long way since then. Black brides/women everywhere are embracing wearing their natural hair.
I know it is not easy maintaining healthy natural hair. But it is even more difficult if you’re getting married and cannot just go to your local superstore to get products. I remember the first time I walked into a big super store (unfortunately I cannot mention their name on here, cannot give out free advertising lol) and saw natural hair products amongst other famous brands. I nearly fainted in excitement. I had to applaud the store for offering variety of products for natural hair. I am so happy that there is diversity. Retailers are catching on to the fact that black brides/women are willing to spend to keep their natural hair healthy.
When styled right natural hair is beautiful. The images on this post are a testament to that truth. Thank you to all the celebrities who wear their hair natural. You have inspired us to embrace our beauty and uniqueness.
Remember it doesn’t matter what you choose to do with your natural hair on your wedding day. The only thing that matters is that you look, feel and believe that you are beautiful.
