Reasons Why You Should Set a Wedding Budget

Unless you are a millionaire and couldn’t care less about what things costs; it is a terrible idea not to set a wedding budget. Most engaged couples would have never planned a wedding before. It can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time to plan a wedding, you have always wanted.

That is why it is of utmost importance that before anything is booked a budget is set in place. Without a budget your finances could spiral out of control. Even if you plan to have a simple, no fuss wedding you still  have to pay for it.  So I thought I would let you in on reasons why you should  set a wedding Budget.Reasons Why You Should Set a Wedding Budget

Focus: A budget will force you to focus on important things. Sometimes we tend to buy things that we don’t need. Think about when you go grocery shopping. I don’t know about you but sometimes I go over board and buy things that end up out of date, stuck in my cupboards.

Priorities: First and foremost you need to get your priorities straight. Know from the word go what you are willing to sacrifice on and everything you cannot do without. Once you know your priorities you can allocate your budget accordingly.

Time: I am sure you have heard people say time is money. I say not only is time money but valuable. We are all blessed with 24hrs hours a day but if you work a full time job and planning a wedding at the same time, the experience can leave you drained and wishing you could elope. But there is a solution, hire a planner, not only can a planner give you a piece of mind, they can save you time and money. It takes long hours of research to pull off a wedding and planners can help.

Stress reduction: there is nothing more stressful than planning a wedding. You will find yourself worrying about everything. At least you will have one less thing to worry about, with a budget plan in place.

Avoid Debt: When you know your budget, you will most likely avoid contacting suppliers that are out of your price range.

Oh and remember to keep a Spreadsheet: spreadsheets will give you a clear view of where you have spent most your money. It doesn’t have to be complicated, just three columns one for estimates, actuals and total.
