I’ve never seen so much cuteness in one day. The children at Amanda and Junior’s Nelspruit wedding makes me adore this wedding even more. I know how difficult it can be to keep children entertained at weddings. However from the images of Amanda and Junior’s Nelspruit wedding, I can safely say it can be done. Look at their smiles, they look like they’re having a time of their life.
Amanda and Junior married at Nelspruit Botanical in the Green Leaf Teag Garden venue. Everything about their wedding was beautiful. Amanda wore a gorgeous princess dress and Junior wore a classic tuxedo with a twist of a white jacket (I see more grooms embracing white rather than the normal black, which is refreshing). Here’s their story as told by the bride…
The Proposal Story
My daughter had turned a month old on 28/06/13, my then boyfriend suggested that we take a break on that day and drive to Kaapsehoop, 25km from Nelspruit and go on a hiking trail there. He asked me to get a bottle of wine ready that we can enjoy when we reach the top of the trail to enjoy the beautiful view. We eventually made it to the top as unfit as we were. The view made it worth it!
While I was still catching my breath, I turned around and Junior was on his knees and I was so confused and caught by surprise because he was not really the romantic type at the time, clearly proved me wrong! I do not remember the words that came out of his mouth because I was so nervous. All I remember was saying yes! And the rest is history.
The Planning Process
It was a very stressful process because I needed to come up with a plan B, C & D in case plan A didn’t work out. I love being in control and I had to depend on so many people, which made it very stressful.
The Creative’/ Supplier Selection
My suppliers/vendors came as a package with the venue. They were so relaxed about everything because they have obviously done it over a 100times already. I panicked a bit, I think, I was a bit of a bridezilla but everything worked out in the end.
Favourite Part Of The Wedding
Walking down the aisle, I was so excited when I saw Junior and everyone that attended our special day.
I initially wanted a mermaid lace dress with a beautiful train. However when I fitted it on, I was very disappointed because it didn’t look the way I had imagined it most of my life. The amazing lady from D&G Bridal showed me a beautiful ballroom type dress with a bodice covered in feathers and I immediately fell in love with it.
Our Wedding in 7 Words
Perfect, Joyful, Classy, Amazing, Exciting, Emotional , Blessing
One Thing I’d Change
The unnecessary stress, in the end, everything was Perfect!
The Wedding Style
I struggled a bit on a theme for our wedding. I knew I wanted pastel colors, simplicity, and elegance mashed in one. I loved the idea of having my bridesmaids in different pastel colors, soft and beautiful.
Flavour Of Culture
We didn’t incorporate culture with the Western Wedding, we, however, had a welcoming Ceremony & celebration on the Sunday as my husband is Pedi.
The Biggest Investment
The biggest investment was the wedding package from the venue and we saved on my dress because it was rented out.
