Morning precious PPLE readers! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Sorry, I missed you last week. It was the busiest week of my life, anyway enough about that, i’ll keep you posted about the next phase of Pure Pearls Luxury Events in the next coming weeks.
I don’t know if its the snow, sleigh rides or the holiday spirit but there is something magical about a snowy winter wedding. When I think about winter weddings, so many ideas come to mind like creating a sparkly, twinkly and christmassy feel, lots of tea lights, snow covered enchanted forest, ferrero rocher tree, mini hand warmers and so much more. There are so many gorgeous colors to choose from like gold and ivory mixed with various shades of purple/taupe or white and shades of grey with silver and black accents or gold and shades of green with a hint of red make a fabulous color scheme. Here are a few tips on how to create a perfect winter wonderland wedding:
Stationery: There is so much you can do here. Stationery shops everywhere will be wanting to get rid of their old stock. I have to say though that I’m smitten with Lucy Ledgers designs by far the best wedding stationery I ‘ve seen in a long time.
What to Wear: For the Bride-Don’t be afraid to wear a strapless wedding dress there are so many cover ups/ bolero that you can buy or have made to go with your dress. For the Groom– instead of having Him in the traditional suit, why not style it up with a scarves, vest, red colored gloves or a sweater. Sometimes even the smallest accessory can pull him in with the winter theme.
Ceremony:You will not have to work hard to decorate church/venue as many churches will most probably have Christmas decorations and flowers up, decorate your chairs with Christmas-inspired covers. If you are blessed enough to live in the highlands of Scotland why not have the snowy covered mountains as your backdrop. Please check with your local authority before making plans to get married in the mountains.
Reception:Transform your reception space into a magical snow-covered forest by bringing the icy outdoors indoors. Have frosted covered vases filled with tall white winter branches and hanging crystals as your centerpieces and then surround with votive candles to give that warm feel.
Food: now this is my favorite part. There is nothing more comforting than having a good old home cooked meals. Talk to your caterer/venue and ask them to create a menu that reflects the season and goes with the winter theme, you will not go wrong with home made soups, roast turkey with all the trimmings and a hot chocolate/cocoa station.
Favors : snowflake ginger cookies are everyone’s favorite, you can place one on each guest’s plate in a clear favor box or if your having a vintage/shabby chic theme you can put cocoa mixer in mason jars and ask guests to just add hot water.
Cake: now when it comes to the cake for a winter wedding choose a simple and elegant design that capture the winter/christmassy feel. Have a chat with your cake maker, they will be able to give you advice on how to use Icing and Frosting to showcase the winter theme.
