Stress Free Wedding Dress Shopping

real wedding AneleLungi-131Shopping for the perfect wedding dress can be very tricky. To some, it is an easy experience, to others it is just a pain. If you are finding wedding dress shopping a tedious experience, don’t worry I have 7 tips that will help you relax and hopefully you’ll start enjoying dress hunting.

Take only 2-3 people with you. Make sure these are the people who have your best interests at heart, you don’t want  anyone who is highly opinionated because they’ll most definitely ruin your experience.

When you eventually find the perfect dress, STOP making appointments to try on dresses at other bridal salons. You’ll only confuse yourself.Stress Free Wedding

If you are going the couture  route, trust your designer there’s a reason why you chose them in the first place.

Don’t try on dresses outside your budget. Stick to your budget. A lesson I learnt the hard way. I tried on dresses that were way out of my price range and ended up losing a lot of money.

Don’t conform, choose the dress that you want and that makes you feel like you are walking on air, not the dress chosen by your mom,  mother in law or other family. Unless of course if you like it.

Try on dresses that you had in mind first, if that doesn’t work ask your bridal consultant for suggestions, remember they do this on a daily basis. Chances are they worked out your body shape the minute you walked in the bridal saloon. So be sure to ask them for suggestions.Stress Free Wedding

Online:The bridal industry will probably kill me for saying this.Try online, Oh yes I said it. If you’re not concerned with the type of material or the stitching on the dress then you might be able to save a ton online. However do your research, read their reviews on bridal forums and be very cautious.

  1. Such a fab post, all of these tips are entirely on point! I can’t agree more with the first 2 tips, only choose friends/family whose opinion actually matters (and bring the ones that will be quiet if they realize you truly love a dress they don’t!) and step away from Pinterest, brida boutiques, and even blogs if all you find yourself doing is staring at wedding dresses! You said yes to the dress for a reason 😉
