Hey Everyone! The storm is finally over and thank God there wasn’t too much damage to the UK just a few trees and a couple of power lines. I’ve been thinking about details that couples could include in their wedding days and have planned a ridiculously adventurers styled shoot which will take place in a couple of weeks, so watch this space there is more coming from Pure Pearls Luxe Blog.
Back to Today’s Post and its all about the glitz and glam of the 2014 bridal collections. Although bridal fashion week has come and gone, we are still excited about the bridal gowns designers have come up with. For those of you who are not familiar with the bridal fashion week, it is an event that takes place in New York City and is similar to the London fashion week where bridal designers showcase their latest collections. There is nothing like it and hopefully we will see this event happening in London soon.
I’m so loving all the gorgeous collections that designers have created. Looking at all these beautiful dresses makes one think twice about getting married again mmmhhh!. Here are a few hand picked dresses by amazing designers that I thought might give you inspiration if you are overwhelmed by the thousands upon thousands of gorgeous dresses out there. I have narrowed it down to three but there are more designers that have fabulous collections and you can find them here. Remember the key to finding the perfect dress is to find the one that suits your body type.
Maggie Sottero’s: By far one of my favorite designers, I wore a Maggie Sottero dress when I got married and even though I had gained weight I still looked fabulous. Their 2014 Spring collection is inspired by iconic elements of the 20s, including Neo-classic columns, dropped-waist Deco designs, slinky sheaths and jewelry inspired beading, with calls out to today’s romantic bride seeking a modern twist on traditional styling
Sottero and Midgley’s rich and luxurious Spring 2014 collection is inspired by the drama and artistry of the legendary Art Deco era, designed for the sophisticated bride, intent on indulging herself in the glamour of yesteryear. Pearls and jeweled embellishments in elaborate designs double as decadent wedding day jewelry, while stunning thread-craft embroidery and opulent bead patterns are presented in contrasting color and tone-on-tone detail. If you love pearls like me then I would suggest trying one of Sottero and Midgley dresses when they become available in bridal salons. Vera Wang Spring 2014 Collection is all about color. I’ve always had a soft spot for Vera and I think she is a legend. I love how she pushed the boundaries with this collections— her runway at the bridal fashion week was filled with gowns in light-lavender, blush, coral hues to peony. I think this collection will look flattering on any skin type.
