Zimbabwean Inspired Styled Shoot

posted in: Home | 1

Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe during these turbulent, uncertain days? Everything has stopped on my end. Hence why I haven’t posted. But then I realise we all need some cheering up right now. Being on lockdown is hard. I’m finding it difficult. So many things canceled and with good reason. We have to stay safe and take care.

I appreciate the simple things I took for granted, like school runs, grocery shopping, walking freely without the fear of catching anything. My goodness, it’s rough.

It is not all gloom though. I received these stunning images the other day and they sure put a smile on my face and hope they do the same for you.

Zimbabwean Inspired Styled Shoot

From The Planner, Connie Of Events by Zar

The concept behind the shoot comes from my passion to get Zimbabweans to embrace and appreciate their culture more. We lack behind on the Afro-centric wave and tend to believe other cultures are somewhat “better”. I’m in love with all things African and what it represents for me as a Zimbabwean Wedding Planner. I want our brides to understand that it is fashionable, trendy and classy to incorporate our African identity into our wedding celebrations. Our Roora/Lobola, which is the main event is often sidelined. We wanted to inspire brides to think outside the box and be inspired by our very own heritage.

This styled shoot proves that culture can bee added elegantly at your wedding. The possibilities are endless. I know sometimes, it is difficult to know where to start however inspiration is all around us. If you struggle with finding a planner who is culturally clued up, ask your parents about the practices of your culture and then modernise some traditions to suit your taste.

I hope you were inspired by this Zimbabwean styled shoot. For more gorgeous styled shoot, click here
